This study revisits null arguments in Turkish in the light of some interpretive diagnostics such as strict/sloppy interpretation and E-type/Quantificational interpretation in addition to adjunct inclusion in the ellipsis sites. Drawing on novel data, we argue that certain null arguments in Turkish are best analyzed as instances of Verb Stranding Ellipsis (VSE), wherein the verb raises out of the verbal complex prior to the ellipsis of the vP. Support for this analysis comes from cases involving adjunct inclusion, where an adjunct present in the antecedent clause is interpreted in the ellipsis site. We also provide a novel account of the mutual exclusivity between agreement and ellipsis.
